In a Persian home, tea is never only tea. It is the first thing offered to a guest and the last reason to stay.
We built Black Gold Persian Tea for that moment, a blend worthy of the ceremony around it. No dust, no shortcuts, no filler. Only long, dark, wiry whole leaf from Ceylon, finished by hand with cold-pressed bergamot. The cup runs coppery-orange to deep red, aromatic and quietly luxurious. Strong enough to sip all day, refined enough to serve to the people who matter most.
Black tea from Sri Lanka, bold, dark, and full-bodied. This is the base that stands up to bergamot, cardamom, and rose.
Long, dark, wiry whole leaf, never broken into dust. The grade you can see in the box and taste in the glass.
In San Francisco we finish every batch by hand with cold-pressed bergamot oil, then sift, fill and seal each pack ourselves.
Before there was Black Gold Persian Tea, there were four months of tasting: 44 suppliers and more than 134 teas, from Sri Lanka to Darjeeling to China, in search of a leaf that stays red and fragrant in the glass and never turns bitter, even after hours on the samovar. You taste it in the first glass: cleaner, brighter, deeper. This is premium, uncompromised.

Bring fresh water to a full boil (212°F). Warm the pot, then add about four teaspoons (8 g) of whole leaf for every two cups.
Steep a full 8 minutes over the samovar. The brew should run deep red. This is the concentrated dam.
Pour a measure of dam into the glass, then top with hot water to the strength each guest prefers.
Offer with a sugar cube held on the tongue, dates, or a wedge of citrus. Then simply, stay.
Served the way it is at home: poured from the samovar into small glasses, with sugar cubes, dates and good company.
